MICSUN XII

February 8-9, 2025

A Letter from the Executives:

Dear delegates and faculty advisors,

On behalf of the MICSUN XII secretariat and the University of Miami’s Model United Nations team, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the twelfth annual session of the MICSUN high school conference which will be held from Saturday, February 8th to Sunday, February 9th, 2025. We are thrilled to host you on the University of Miami’s beautiful Coral Gables Campus.

The MICSUN Secretariat prides itself on holding a conference that exemplifies the values of our university. We strive to create an environment wherein delegates feel comfortable expressing themselves. Although this may be the twelfth iteration of our conference, we are positive that we will continue to demonstrate these ideals for both this iteration and future iterations to come. We possess a strong commitment to fostering a positive delegate experience and aim to have every delegate walk away excited for the next session of MICSUN.

This conference extends far beyond the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus. Taking place in the dynamic and vibrant city of Miami, we are all reminded of the core values of the United Nations: unity, cooperation, and the celebration of diversity. Miami provides the quintessential background for the simulation of the United Nations as it is one of the most diverse cities in the United States. We are so excited to welcome you all to the city of Miami and hope you will enjoy it here as much as we do.

Through our General Assemblies, Specialized Committees, and Crisis Committees, delegates will be able to tackle a wide range of issues and topics. Our chairs and crisis directors have worked exceptionally hard to create dynamic and interesting committees that will allow delegates to engage in passionate debate. Our volunteers and staff have worked exceptionally hard over the past year to put on this conference and ensure its success. We are indebted to them and forever grateful for their efforts.

The Secretariat is beyond thrilled to welcome you all to MICSUN this February.

Sincerely,

Isaac Jimenez and Alfredo Briceno
