Meet the Secretariat

Isaac Jimenez

Secretary General

Isaac Jimenez is a junior at the University of Miami majoring in Political Science on the Pre-Law track. He is from Miami, Florida. With several years of experience in Model United Nations including competing at MICSUN X as a delegate. Isaac chaired the “at last year’s MICSUN conference is happy to be serving as the Secretary General for MICSUN XII.

Outside of MUN, Isaac is involved in Student Government, SAFAC, and a professional law fraternity among so many other things. He also interned for a well-known Florida congressman during high school.

Alfredo Briceno

Director General

Alfredo Briceno is a second-year from Miami, Florida. Alfredo is currently double majoring in Entrepreneurship and Finance at the Miami Herbert Business School. At MICSUN XI, Alfredo chaired the “Jamaican Parliament: Chaos, Crime, and Corruption” Committee and recently served as the crisis director for “The Marineford War: Whitebeard Pirates vs Marine Headquarters” at 305MUN II. Alfredo participated in MICSUN X as a delegate with Westminster Christian School. He has also competed with the travel team at Emory and Georgetown.

Outside of MUN, Alfredo works as a peer ambassador at UM’s Money Management Program and represents the business school as a senator in student government. He enjoys cooking, playing tennis, sim racing, and watching lots of soccer and Formula 1 on the weekends (Hala Madrid and Forza Ferrari)!

Maya Bielawski

Under Secretary General of General Assembly and Specialized

Maya Bielawski is a fourth-year student from Long Island, New York at the University of Miami. She is double majoring in international studies and political science. At the last 305MUN, she served as Director General. Maya also served as a chair for the “Fast Fashion Mayhem” committee at MICSUN XI. Additionally, she chaired two committees at the Miami Dade Model United Nations: the World Food Program and the United Nations Security Council. Maya is an active member of the University of Miami MUN Travel Team.

Outside of MUN, Maya works at the University of Miami School of Law within the International Law Department. This past summer, Maya was an intern for the Honorable Judge David Reilly.

Rafael Gonzalez-Acosta

Under Secretary General of Crisis

Rafael Gonzalez-Acosta is a second-year student at the University of Miami originally from Orlando, Florida. He is majoring in Biomedical Engineering with eventual aspirations to go to medical school. While he did not have the opportunity to take part in MUN in high school, he has been an active and committed member of the team since his freshman year. Having since attended multiple conferences on the competitive circuit, Rafael has developed an unbridled love for the fast-paced action in Crisis Committees. At last year’s MICSUN XI, he served as Co-Chair for the “Super Mario Movie feat. Chris Pratt Committee"

Outside of MUN, Rafael is an Undergraduate Researcher at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and a First-Year Fellow in the Department of Housing and Residential Life. He loves getting involved all over campus, trying new foods, playing the piano, and dominating any sport with a racket involved.

Diego Balda

Under Secretary General of Outreach and Delegate Affairs

Diego Balda is a third-year at the University of Miami, double-majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Physics, on the Pre-Medical Track. He is originally from Caracas, Venezuela and now lives in Miami. He has been a part of MUN for eight years, and aside from frequently competing in the circuit, his previous experience includes running several committees, including 305MUN I’s “(Drug) Lord Have Mercy: UNODC, 2023”, 305MUN II’s “From Russia With Love: Russia 2050”, and MICSUN XI’s “Fast Fashion Mayhem: ILO, 2024”.

Outside of MUN, Diego spends his time as a Research Assistant for UM’s School of Nursing and Health Studies, participating in different College of Engineering organizations, and drinking an absurd amount of boba tea. In his free time, Diego enjoys exploring local restaurants, going on little beach adventures, and promoting White Lotus.

Jackson Kuster

Under Secretary General of Finance

Jackson Kuster is a second-year in the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School majoring in Accounting. Originally from Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Jackson grew up visiting South Florida frequently and is proud to call Miami his adopted home! Jackson started Model UN at the beginning of his freshman year and has enjoyed every moment of it! He represented UM’s MUN team at SUNMUN, MUNE, and BARMUN. He has chaired multiple committees at last year’s MICSUN conference and at the Miami Dade MUN conference.

Outside of Model UN, Jackson is heavily involved on campus being an Executive Board Member of Get Out The Vote, along with being an active member of the Cinematic Arts Commission and Hurricane Productions. Jackson also works part-time as the Vice Business Manager for The Miami Hurricane Newspaper.
